May 1, 2010 - Miracle Mile of Quarters @ Rady Children's Hopital
At this event, we were given quarters to create a piece of art for the children at the hospital. ORHS KIWIN'S came up with a Dr. Pikachu! We were also given lunch and breakfast and a tour of the hospital. The hospital is very nice and it was good to see where our money from Rady's Rhythm went to. Oh yeah, we won 2nd place for Key Club! :D
February 12, 2010 - Friendly Friday @ Chula Vista Fire Station
FRIENDLY FRIDAY! We bought cupcakes for the fire fighters and they showed up around their station and told us what they did. It was all REALLY COOL and Albert (member) and Josephine (president) got to try on the actual fire fighter suit. Such a great experience!
Pictures coming soon.

February 9, 2010 - Park Clean up @ Heritage Park
KIWIN'S Week Day 1: MEMBERSHIP MONDAY! A couple of officers of KIWIN'S and members accompanied each other in walking to Heritage Park after school. We arrived at the park, played "All hands on deck," an ice breaker, and broke into teams to pick up trash around the park. Worth about an hour and worth the walk ...
December 19, 2009 - Breakfast with Santa @ Chula vista High School
The Breakfast with Santa was a yearly Kiwanis event where breakfast and presents would be giving to families. We helped decorate the cafeteria and stage with Christmas decor, categorized the presents to be given to the many families, and served breakfast. It was super fun delivering gifts to children and seeing their joyful reactions.
October 30, 2009 - Husky Howl @ Hedenkamp Elementary
The Husky Howl is Hedenkamp Elementary's Fall/Halloween Festival. It was super fun, being able to help out the school and see the kids having a good time. Plus, most volunteers were able to get free food ... free food is always nice. :)
October 29, 2009 - Box Wrapping/Trick or Treat for Unicef @ Heritage Park
The title says it all. The box wrapping was intended to warp the boxes that are going to collect cans for St. Vincent De Paul and books that will be given to kids in Sri Lanka. Amazing, right? And the whole deal about Trick or treating for Unicef-- we went door to door asking for money. It's not what it sounds like! All the money will go to those in need in South Africa. It was a fun night! And ah, the weather was nice and chilly ... it's definitely Autumn now!
Ps-- Woohoo, Weebly finally added the option to put captions on pictures! :)

October 17, 2009 - Diabetes Walk
The Diabetes Walk was incredibly productive, but at the same time fun! We all know it's not the greatest thing to wake up extremely early and have to drive in the thick fog... but knowing it's for a good cause makes it all worth while. A satisfying amount of people attended this event and we can't thank you all enough for helping out. There were many signs and t-shirts the walkers were displaying that I know were very heart-warming and heart-wrenching at the same time. So, those who were stationed at water stations, as route monitors, or even if you just cheered for the walkers-- your contributions made an impact and I know they all appreciated our attendance.
September 27, 2009 - AIDS Walk
AIDS Walk is always one of our biggest events throughout the year. A BIG thanks for everyone who attended, any help at the event was appreciated. A couple of us were route monitors, some worked at water stations ... well, wherever you were, you made an impact. It was inspiring and it was evident that everyone that participated had such dedication! It felt awesome to be a part of it. Knowing you helped tons of people with HIV/AIDS can't be any more rewarding.
September 21, 2009 - Cycle Eastlake @ Otay Ranch Towncenter
Waking up at 6 AM and getting right to work by 6:30 AM really makes you feel accomplished. It's a good thing they provided us free pastries and coffee! I'm pretty sure we're professionals at setting up canopies now -- we probably set up at least 10. We cheered for the bicyclists, handed people (and a dog) water, and pointed them to the right direction. AND, we got free t-shirts. What a day it was. What a day.
September 20th, 2009 - Kid's Festival @ New Hope Church
It was a day filled with playing games with kids and eating free food (well, mostly free). Could it have gotten any better? YEAH! IF YOU WERE THERE! :) Other than that ... it was pretty chill, though not literally. The heat was still overwhelming. But did it get in the way of our service?! Don't bet on it! :D
Here's some pictures taken by yours truly. Enjoy.

August 30, 2009 - Beach Clean Up @ Mission Beach
So, the beach clean-up was pretty much a success! A BIG thank you to everyone who was able to make it. Trash bags were filled and socializing was made. Here are some pictures I took from today, I'll converse with Miss Josephine about how we're going to organize this website so it's more ... convenient. Or, if you have any suggestions, feel free to talk to us about it. :)
Enjoy! (There will be more uploaded once Charmaine gets some pictures off her camera, too. :D ... or if YOU have anything to send us, of course! It's never too late!)
